NYC Prep!
So, apparently they used “Anime Eyes” in the first episode of NYC-Prep on Bravo TV! I knew they used it in this online preview thing, but wasn’t sure it would actually be in the real episode. Pretty cool! Check out the episode here. It’s in the first 5 minutes, during the fashion show scene.

I was in Chicago last weekend for my brother’s biz school graduation so didn’t have as much time as I would have liked to work on the EP. But Chicago is a pretty dope town.

Bravo TV!
Not directly EP related, but I learned that this new Bravo show, NYC-Prep (kind of like a Gossip Girl-esque reality show) used a clip of “Anime Eyes” (from the first BBB EP) for a scene in their series preview special. It’s about 3 minutes in, the catwalk scene for “Jessie’s” little intro. Check it out here.

Freak You Out
Whenever I write a new song, I do a pretty full demo of it to flesh out the ideas. It usually has a full arrangement including vox, synths, bass, guitars and programmed drums. But some of the demos are really old! So for the new EP songs I decided to scrap them and start re-recording everything from the ground up, and making improvements/final decisions along the way.

Since the last EP (Alarm Clock, Snooze Bar, Get Up - released April 08) I’ve written a bunch of songs, most of which have been played live at one point or another There are maybe 11 that I feel good enough about to make this next release. So I briefly considered doing an actual LP, but another EP just makes sense for many reasons.

This will be a blog following the making of Blip Blip Bleep’s third EP! Inspired by my friend Paul Canneti’s awesome new band Love and Logic. They documented the entire process of making their debut EP (you can download it for free here) and it was a really cool idea.
